Prásino Alpha Sport & Calm Comfort combine CBD with superfood. Each product combines cannabidiol powder with 6 superfoods. Superfoods are foods, mostly plant-based but also some fish and dairy, that are thought to be nutritionally dense and can be good for one's health. Hemp seeds, blueberries, spirulina, chia seeds, kale, maqui berries and acai are just a few examples of foods that have garnered the "superfood" label.
Superfoods are a diverse collection of nutrient-rich natural foods which can have a positive effect on your body. They contain a large percentage of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and antioxidants. Unlike most healthy foods, which normally contain two or three particular nutritional properties, superfoods often have 12 or more.
Why are superfoods important?
The modern diet is often not as nutritious as it should be. There is an abundance of unhealthy foods available, which are often easier to prepare and quicker to eat than their healthy counterparts. However, unhealthy eating is not good for your body, your skin, your hair and your immune system - it even impacts your emotional state. Whereas a daily diet that includes superfoods gives your body everything it needs to run smoothly and stay healthy. Below you'll find the details of all the superfoods that you find in Prásino Alpha Sport and Calm Comfort.
Not a superfood, but an important ingrediënt in both products. Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the naturally occurring cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. It is a 21-carbon terpenophenolic compound which is formed following decarboxylation from a cannabidiolic acid precursor, although it can also be produced synthetically. Several countries have modified their national controls to accommodate CBD as a medicinal product. To date, there is no evidence of recreational use of CBD or any public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD (World Health Organization, 2017).
In recent years, CBD has generated a tremendous amount of interest among consumers, clinicians, and scientists. Why? Not only does evidence suggest CBD counteracts many of THC’s adverse effects, but numerous animal studies (Simon Zhornitsky, 2012) and accumulating evidence (Esther M. Blessing, 2015) from human experimental, clinical, and epidemiological studies suggest CBD has powerful anti-anxiety properties. Administered acutely (“as needed”), it appears safe, well-tolerated, and may be beneficial to treat a number of anxiety-related disorders, including:
- Panic disorder
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Social phobia
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
- Mild to moderate depression
Also, the World Health Organization claims in their extensive research into CBD that it may have therapeutic benefits against anxiety: “Reduction of muscular tension, restlessness, fatigue, problems in concentration, improvement of social interactions in rodent models of anxiety and stress; reduced social anxiety in patients.” (World Health Organization, 2017)
Ashwagandha is a traditional herb often found in India, that scientifically substantiated that it increases testosterone.
An important factor for success among men in the gym is the height of the hormone testosterone. This hormone provides the amount of strength, speed of muscle gains and last but not least the libido.
The natural level of testosterone peaks around the age of 25, after which it decreases every year. Practicing strength sports stimulates the production of testosterone, but there are more ways to increase this in a natural way.
Studies in infertile men have shown that their testosterone level increased by 17% (Dongres, Aptikar, & Kulkarni, 2013). The daily dose is 675mg per day according to the research.

Bee Pollen are grains that produce bees from pollen in combination with nectar and special enzymes. They are known to be used ever since ancient China. At present, they are applied in a branch of complementary and alternative medicine - apitherapy
Bee pollen contains a combination of different vitamins and minerals which provide an increased resistance (Kocot et al, 2018).
After practicing strength sports, the body is exhausted, full of free radicals and susceptible to diseases. Bee pollen can perfectly contribute to a post workout resistance booster.

Raw Cacao Powder
Cacao powder is not the same as the cocoa powder often found on supermarket shelves. Cacao is the raw, pure form of chocolate. Eating cacao powder is a great way to boost your intake of beneficial nutrients.
Cacao is a great source of four scientifically proven bliss chemicals – serotonin, tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylethylamine. These neurotransmitters are associated with cosy feelings of wellbeing, happiness, and can even alleviate depression. A natural, healthy, delicious (and legal) way to get your happy buzz on.
Raw Cacao powder is a truly antioxidants rich super food. It has an amazing ORAC score of 98,000 per 100g. Nine out of ten Dutch people don’t eat the daily advised amount of fiber (NRC, 2006). Fibers provide good digestion. Good digestion is necessary in order to be able to use the food optimally as a strength athlete. Also, eating fiber causes less fluctuation in blood sugar levels, resulting in a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes (Zhang et al, 2016).
Hemp Seed are a good source of both soluble and insoluble fibers (Callaway, 2004). In the product they also provide structure and bite.

Ceylon Cinnamon, or "true cinnamon," is native to Sri Lanka and southern parts of India. It's made from the inner bark of the Cinnamomum verum tree. It’s high in cinnamaldehyde, which is thought to be responsible for most of cinnamon’s health benefits.
Thanks to the presence of chromium it has a stabilizing effect on your blood sugar level and helps your body to deal better with sugar by converting it into energy. Something that with our daily towering sugar consumption is not a luxury. (Kirkham S, 2015)

Chia seeds are tiny black seeds from the plant Salvia hispanica, which is related to the mint. The Mayans prized them for their ability to provide sustainable energy. In fact, "chia" is the ancient Mayan word for "strength." n the past few years, they have exploded in popularity and are now consumed by health-conscious people all over the world.
Chia seeds shine in their high antioxidant content (Martínez-Cruz O, 2014). These antioxidants protect the sensitive fats in the seeds from going rancid. Though the benefits of antioxidant supplements are debated, researchers agree that getting antioxidants from foods can have positive health effects. Most importantly, antioxidants fight the production of free radicals, which can damage cell molecules and contribute to aging and diseases like cancer (B N Ames, 2016).
It has been seen that Omega-3 fats, which are highly contained in chia seeds, can help in fighting depression and mood swings. A lot of other scientific studies have shown that low levels of Omega-3 fatty acids can trigger a host of mental and emotional disorders. (Tsiahima D, 2015)
